Lambeth Reserve Boardwalk
Lambeth Reserve Boardwalk – NatureTREAD™
Located on the Georges River at Picnic Point, Lambeth Reserve is a great place for families and friends to get together. Visitors can look forward to fishing, barbecues and play areas.
As part of their recovery plan, the council was tasked with replacing the timber boardwalk which had been badly damaged. This plan would also extend the walkway by a further 30 metres. Treadwell was engaged to supply the FRP products required for this upgrade.
Project Challenges
- Being near a river meant that the ground was prone to dampness and slippery conditions. The structure had to be corrosion resistant.
- It was a spot frequented by children; the non-slip surface had to be durable while being gentle on bare feet.
- Being in a nature reserve, the area covered by the track had to have ventilation to allow vegetation to thrive.
