Snapper Point Boardwalk - NatureTREAD™
Onkaparinga, South Australia – In 2015, the timber boardwalk at Snapper Point was replaced with our NatureTREAD™ FRP boardwalk to address severe coastal erosion. The new elevated boardwalk and viewing platform were designed to withstand the harsh coastal environment and offer visitors a prime spot to enjoy the stunning views.
From the photos below, this NatureTREAD™ FRP installation has proven its durability, remaining resilient against coastal and environmental exposure. While there is the unavoidable occurrence of natural lightening of the colour, the surface finish remains intact. There are no exposed glass fibres, ensuring user safety. The structure remains sturdy and robust.

NatureTREAD™

These components have demonstrated exceptional resilience against the harsh coastal environment through the years, maintaining the boardwalk’s integrity and performance.
- The extensive range of ArchitEX™ FRP structural profiles provided the durable and robust components necessary for constructing the framework. These elements have proven their strength and longevity, ensuring the boardwalk remains a reliable and safe structure for visitors to date.
- FRP is simply modified on site, if necessary, with simple hand tools. This means there is no need for any hot works permit.
- Being lightweight and easy to install, FRP is very manageable during construction, and also presents savings on related transportation and labour costs.
