Arno Bay Boardwalk - NatureTREAD™
Eyre Peninsula, South Australia – Located in the east coast of the Eyre Peninsula you will find Arno Bay, a favourite amongst recreational fishermen. Accessible via a new boardwalk that was constructed by community volunteers, this 1.4km walk is wheelchair-friendly and features three jetties for the keen fishermen and those looking to take a dip.
Treadwell was engaged to supply the FRP grating, structural profiles and balustrades for this boardwalk.
Project Challenges
- Being in an environmentally delicate location meant that the selected material had to present minimal impact to the surroundings.
- The grating and structural profiles had to remain robust while being permanently exposed to coastal conditions as well as the outdoor elements.
- The grating had to allow the existing vegetation to thrive.
- Corrosion resistance, long lifespan and minimal maintenance were also key considerations.
