Lake Inverell Boardwalk and Watercraft Access
Lake Inverell Boardwalk and Watercraft Access – NatureTREAD™
Lake Inverell in New South Wales underwent an upgrade to improve access and increase visitor numbers to the nature reserve. A thriving birdlife and aquatic sanctuary, it is a favourite location among locals to indulge in nature and paddle sport activities. A boardwalk, viewing platform and kayak launch facility were installed as part of the upgrades, allowing visitors a stunning panoramic view of the lake. This new platform is large enough for picnics and even weddings and other celebrations.

NatureTREAD™
- Treadwell’s unique surface finishing system ensures UV stability in exposed applications, directly eliminating the need for costly surface treatment.
- GratEX® FRP Micro Mesh grating is heel-safe, while allowing water and other tiny debris to fall through, creating a self-maintaining anti-slip surface.
- GratEX® FRP grating is constructed as a large single piece panel, ensuring a uniform surface, without large gaps between panels.
- FRP is simply fabricated and modified on site. This means there is no need for any hot works permit.
- Being lightweight and easy to install, FRP is very manageable during construction.
- Given the nature of FRP, any system utilising it is virtually maintenance free, keeping maintenance costs to a minimum.
