Echo Point Jetty
Echo Point Jetty - NatureTREAD™
Echo Point Jetty, Tasmania – Located midway between Narcissus and Cynthia Bay at the southern end of Cradle Mountain – Lake St Clair National Park, Echo Point offers visitors a 11km lake-side walk through dense rainforest to Cynthia Bay. This walk offers a beautiful rainforest backdrop with a stunning view of Mount Ida on the eastern shore of the lake. Visitors also have the option of walking one way, and taking a ferry to return to the Visitor Centre.
In December last year, a contract to upgrade this jetty was awarded. Treadwell was involved in the design and supplied the FRP decking and structural profiles for the new jetty.
Project Challenges
- The surface of the decking had to be hardy and have anti-slip properties to ensure safety for the user.
- Longevity and maintenance of the structure were key considerations.
- Installation was dependent on weather conditions.
- Installation was subject to strict timelines.
